Is there any measuring, cutting or tying required for the bungee cord around the skylight during installation?
No. The bungee cord is pre-measured according to your skylight measurements and built-in to the screen product.

Can I get proper measurements by measuring from inside my house?
No. Dimensions required for a proper fit must be taken from the outside. The actual frame size is larger than the interior opening plus being difficult and dangerous to approximate from the inside.

I live in an area that often experiences very strong winds. Will your product stay on during strong wind conditions?
The marine grade bungee is very strong and does a great job keeping the product secure around your skylight. However, during the most extreme conditions, such as tornadoes and hurricanes, we cannot guarantee they will stay on.

I live in Florida where hurricanes are an issue. Will your product stay on during these conditions?
Feedback from customers who have experienced these storms have told us their screens remained in place despite damage to other areas of their home. Hurricane type winds can be extreme and we cannot guarantee the HeatBlocker product will remain secure under all conditions.

What is the life expectancy of HeatBlocker?
Depending on factors, such as sun angle and daily sun exposure time, the screens should last between five and ten years. Your specific conditions will determine the life of the product.

I am concerned with furniture and carpet fading. Will HeatBlocker provide protection from UV rays?
Yes. The material will block between 80% and 90% of UV rays depending on the amount of blocking material you select.

Will your product help save on our A/C expense?
Yes. Many factors, such as skylight size, number of skylights and room size, determine the savings you will realize. In many cases, our customers have recovered the cost of the product through energy savings within a single season.

Can your product be taken off during the winter to take advantage of solar heating?
Yes. The sewn in bungee allows for easy removal which allows the sun shade to be easily re-installed when warmer weather return.
